Placeholder ring?

I'm new to the engage life - and with it being summer, I'm facing a new dilemma. What to do when I go swimming. I hate not wearing my ring, but I don't want to get it in the chlorine water. So what are some suggestions? He did first give me a promise ring a couple years ago, it's a James Avery silver ring with a white sapphire. Would that be ok, or would it be ruined?

My husband and I purchases Qalo rings to wear in the gym, at the beach and in the pool. They are pretty awesome and only $15-20 each. They are just simple silicone rings and come in a variety of colors.

I wear mine in the pool, lake, ocean, shower. Diamonds are very resilient

Over time, chlorine can eat away at gold. It actually breaks down the alloys that are added to gold to make it stronger, which can make gold porous and weak. I would recommend never wearing your fine jewelry in the pool. Sometimes swimming can also make your fingers contract due to the lower temperature (versus when you're hot, your fingers swell), which makes your rings fit loose and may cause them to slide off easily.

I'm a jeweler, and I can't tell you the number of times people have lost rings while swimming!

If you still want to wear something, I suggest a cheaper band or something you'd be okay if there was damage to it over time, or if it slipped off you wouldn't be heartbroken you lost it.

My husband and I take our rings off if we go to the lake or on a boat. Not worth the risk to lose! Plus my husband had twice had his ring go flying off, once during a dance move second throwing a ball! But I found it in the grass after looking for a while. So that my rule not his! No rings for him while playing ball or at the lake.

Neither of us wear our jewlery in the pool. I don't want to lose a stone or the ring itself. You'll be fine to take it off for a dip in the pool.
