Any interior designers??

Question

So I graduate from high school next year and need to figure out what I want to do with my life. Interior design sounds like something I’d like from the research I’ve done. 
But I want to know other people’s experiences. Do you like it? Do you get paid a lot? Is it rewarding or is it a struggle? 
Any advice would be helpful as well!

I did enjoy it very much as it’s very rewarding when your client is happy with the outcome. It is a hard field to break into and you will most likely be an assistant for quite awhile. A few of the downside is that you have clients who require a lot of time and are very indecisive which is why they are hiring you, you get paid in increments when jobs are completed so you can make a lot of money but not every job is going to be big, and lastly it’s a lot of work, research and you must be reachable all the time to vendors and clients.

I work as a design consultant with a real estate development firm. So not really your average designer as I am not self employed - however, I have better job security than I would being self employed. I'm in charge of all interior and exterior selections (siding, masonry, flooring, paint, lighting, plumbing fixtures, etc) as well as the staging. Honestly, it's a difficult market to be in. It's definitely a luxury thing that not everyone can afford (probably easier to make a living in a big centre). But it's so satisfying! And you get paid to shop...
