Switching pill brands?🤦‍♀️

Will I still be continuously protected if I finish my old pack and start the new pack right away? Like after finishimg my placebos and taking the next active pill of my new brand.

The Walmart pharmacy ran out of Lessina my old pills so they said they called my doctor and gave me a new brand and that it should be fine. Its the same dosage (0.1mg/0.02mg) and theyre both combined pills. (21 active and 7 placebo.)

However, my boyfriend and I dont use condoms and he usually finishes inside. I take my pill every day at the same time. Have never missed one and have never been more than 3 hours late.

Am I still protected right away??? help!!

I read the instructions that came with the new pack and it just said to start the new pack after my old placebo pills are over which I did.

Also what are some side effects with starting a new brand??? Spotting, cramps, anything?
