Should patients whom attempt to trump the medical triage system, by claiming they have chest pain or something similar, be penalized?

Absolutely. Working in healthcare, I’ve seen people in severe pain, sit patiently and wait their turn, I don’t see why those who are in for the flu can’t do the same. More often than not, the least patient people are the ones who are in for something minor.

No. Because ultimately that leads to distrusting people who say they are experiencing symptoms and then someone had a heart attack because they didn’t believe them. It sucks that people lie to get ahead, but the consequences seem much worse. I know a lot of people freak out when it comes to seeking medical care as is because they’re afraid the doctors won’t believe them or will say nothing is wrong. That’s going to increase exponentially and people can die.

If they're lying, then I think it is an awful thing for them to do. I don't know about being penalized because how are you supposed to prove someone lied? I have had actual chest pain before though where I thought I was having a heart attack, so if they're being truthful like I was, then no.

Nooo because how would you know what pain they’re feeling? And it also might deter someone from seeking medical attention out of fear of penalization.
