This isn’t really about a guy at all. Just a story of my “friends”. Sorry for the long read

So me and my 3 friends are at the beach. It’s about 12:45 at night and we go out crab hunting. The beach is about a minute and a half walk from our hotel room. We came back around 1:20 and when we got back to the room I remembered I left my shoes. I asked one friend, A to come with me to get them and she said no. I said “are you seriously not coming??” And her excuse was “I’m tired”

I replied “okay well I hope nothing happens to me” and she casually said “nothing will happen”. A number one tip for an 18 year old girl is to never go anywhere alone. Especially the beach at night?? Anyways. I went and got on the phone with my boyfriend to feel more comfortable. I got my shoes and decided to not go back to the hotel room to see what my friends would do. I was outside in front of the hotel for, not kidding, 20 minutes until one of them called me. I was only supposed to be gone for maybe 2 minutes and it took them 20 to even bother to call me. I sent her call to voicemail and her second one followed right after to voicemail too, just to see what they’d do next.

Nothing. No texts or calls for another 25 minutes. I finally got tired of waiting outside for one of them to care about me, so I went back inside and got to our hotel room door. I put my ear up to it and heard laughter. They were not worried at all. I knocked, and A let me in. No questions. Acted like nothing was wrong. I was missing for 45 minutes at 1:00 in the morning and they didn’t even ask where I had been.

I decided to start off with “So did you guys ever care I was gone"

A “I called you like twice and went out there for a second"

"And I didn't answer and you didn't find me?? What if something had actually happened to me??"

A "all you had to do was answer the phone"

Me "but what if I COULDNT??"

Next friend, J "you just said you were going to get your shoes and come back"

"Yes but what if something happened and I couldn't come back?? What if someone took me??"

A "then we'd go out there and get you or something"

"Yeah bc id just be chilling out there with whoever kid napped me"

J “We thought you were on the phone with (my boyfriend) or something”

A “yeah because you’ve been on the phone w him this whole trip”

Me “but you still didn’t hear from me?? You had no idea what I was doing and you didn’t care”

Friend 3, M, didn't even look up from her phone but for about 3 seconds

None of them apologized or really seemed to care for the conversation at all, so then I said "okay well I seriously hope nothing ever happens to anyone you care about Bc you won't do anything to help them if they need you, and I sure am lucky nothing actually happened to me”

And now they’re all talking and laughing like nothing is wrong. Still no apologizes or anything. I don’t think I’m overreacting. In the past months they’ve shown signs of not being true friends anyways, I guess that’s all
