Saoirse or Sersha? Same pronunciation!

This is my favorite name for a girl and I can’t decide whether to spell it the traditional Irish way, or to spell it phonetically to make her life easier. Any thoughts?

I think the traditional is much prettier. And honestly even your alternate spelling will get pronounced wrong all the time. So might as well go with authentic!

I am a teacher and I love the traditional spelling of this name. It is one of my favorite names too! You do you, even easy names get butchered. I was once called rin-eye-nee (my name is Brianna) by a teacher, itaa happens. also teasing for names once kids know each other does down a LOT. I don't remember the last time I saw it and I have worked in schools for almost 11 years.

Traditional way. Irish names are beautiful to me! People will not know how to pronounce it right away but I'm sure most will be polite enough to ask first 😂 my brother has an Irish name, Sean pronounced Shawn, and he didn't really have too many problems (granted, Sean is a little more popular than Saoirse)
