Pet rabbits?

Question

Any of you ladies have pet rabbits? If so,do you love it?
I’m asking for one for my birthday and hubby said he would but I want to make sure it’s the right fit for me.
I’ve had ferrets and even though I loved them...they were honestly like rats. Would chew everything up and would get under everything. And I couldn’t catch them.
I have 2 big German Shepard’s also. But their loving and sweet that they wouldn’t bother it. I would of course put the rabbit in the cage before I left or before bed just in case.
Can I get pros and cons? I’ve been doing research but i honestly want y’all opinions lol

I’m a hard no. I had a rabbit and it was not cuddly at all. It chewed everything when it was out of its cage and pooped everywhere. Even with daily cage cleaning it still stunk. 
I’m not sure how searchable this app is but there was a post the other day about rabbits as pets and there were other cautionary tales in there too if you can find it.

my coworker had a rabbit. because of it, their dog couldnt go outside because the rabbit would make attempts to reproduce, and it would cover their backyard with jizz in seemingly impossible amounts.

Rabbits need rabbit company, please inform yourself about their needs before adopting only one. They need company and most of them are not really cuddly. They mostly tolerate humans but that is it. 
Also they need a lot of space and they need to be able to hop around outside of a cage so unless you have a garden which you can secure I would strongly advice against ist. 
Never had rabbits myself but I worked at the local animal shelter mostly with rabbits and guinea pigs and it is heartbreaking how little people think before getting a pet :(

I used to have a rabbit when I was younger. You have to clean the cage AT LEAST once a week. It really doesn’t matter if you do it every day, it still ends up stinking and it’s really hard to get rid of it. I also know rabbits aren’t supposed to be in a cage all day, but it seems unrealistic to have them out wandering all day long. They do chew on everything and they’re pretty hard to train. (I probably wasn’t patient enough though.) My rabbit also would get poop stuck to its fur around its butt and even though I cleaned the cage often and tried to clean his fur, it just kept getting stuck and building up. We could never get rid of it. My rabbit was very nice at first, but for some reason it started to get lazy and never wanted to come out and run around. It got a tiny bit mean and bit me a couple times unprovoked. I think if you want a rabbit, you have to be really devoted to keeping it clean, providing exercise, and just ready to always take care of it. It’s a daily chore, and they aren’t as loving or cuddly as dogs and cats.

Totally no! I got one for my birthday. I wished for. A total nightmare. Eating everything during night ( I mean cage, wooden house) she had plenty of food, dry grass to chew on, crunchy food with vitamins she always spread ill over her food bowl. Pooping tons, everywhere, and throwing it all over out of the cage ( had to clean every day) plus her pee smelled horrible, even if I put some special powder for it.
So my advice? DON’T DO IT! I also got bight by her, was terrified to give her food and change her cage. Asked my BF to help, with thick gloves😂 a total nightmare!

If the chewing is an issue then I wouldn’t recommend getting a rabbit 😂. There’s ways to potty train them but they are still messy little creatures overall. Id do way more research if you’re ok with cleaning a lot and possible training it.

rabbits will chew anything . they need lots of attention and care and with my rabbita i had to clean there cage every 2 days they are actually a biggee responsibilty then eveeyone thinks and u have to give them 2 hours time outside ( if there living inside) everyday.
