How do I ask to get on Birth Control ?

I’m a teenager and pretty soon I want to get put on birth control in case a situation like that does happen then I don’t have to depend on a condom because condoms do pop or have holes in them & etc . I don’t know how to ask my mom cause I don’t want her to think I’m already sexually active or I’m wanting to which will trigger her to watch my every move & I don’t want that . I simply want to be on them incase anything happens and I’m somewhat prepared . I also don’t want the conversation to be weird
