ER visit and Ovarian Cyst
Im just shy of 31 and about 2 weeks ago I started to have some severe abdominal pain and it would come in waves of excruciating pain then mellow out to a mild cramp. After discussing my pain with a triage nurse, Im told I should go to UC since it sounded like appendicitis. After being checked out at UC where the doctor did a rebound abdomen squish thing, the pain got alot worse on my right side. So that DR. sends me to the ER because she also thinks that its appendicitis and they didnt have the imaging tools at there to see. I go to the ER and get checked in, then admitted to a room its the hurry up and wait routine after they ask a ton of questions that everyone had already asked. After waiting for the ultrasound tech she finally arrives and starts her examination. She wouldnt let me see the monitor. she does her examination, then makes a few comments out of earshot in the hallway to the P.A. who was overseeing my care. After waiting for another eternity I finally get the results. It's not appendicitis but an ovarion cyst and they only tell me that it will go away on its own and then discharge me. Elapsed time of 7 hours to find little to no info about it I have an appointment with a sub doc, since mine is out of town, tomorrow. im hoping to get a referral to an OB/GYN to get real answers. I currently have no idea how big it is or how bad it is. Any advice on what kinds of things I should be asking the DR.?
