Do Anti Depressants lower your sex drive?

I was prescribed citalopram today and I’m curious if it’s makes a noticeable difference in a woman’s sex drive? I don’t want my sex drive to be lower than it already is.

I was on like 5 different SSRIs since i was a kid and I switched to Wellbutrin and it went back to normal. My boyfriend was on the same thing you are and couldn't come, switched to lexapro and he is horny 24/7 fucks like a fuckin rabbit 😂🙏🏻 I guess lexapro is like the one your on, with less side effects maybe ask your doc about that

I’ve been on a few that have done that. It took a while but I finally found the right one and it doesn’t- they all affect you differently. Good luck!

I was on citalipram, and my sex drive diminished. It also caused brain zaps when I wouldn’t have any. Maybe ask for a different one.

Yes, citalopram will lower your sex drive. All SSRI’s will.

i was on citalopram, & i feel like it did lower my drive. but not enough to where i didnt want it, just wasnt as randomly horny,  but i still loved having sex.

it can but for me it hasn't. I'm on effexor 75 XR and my sex drive hasn't been effected at all. it can depend on the person.
