Would you be offended?

These local Spanish moms started a Spanish play group where they read and sing and play with the kids in Spanish. It’s part of their culture and they all want their children to grow up with more of it around.

I grew up in south Florida and California where I had Spanish nanny’s, playgroups, friends, coworkers, classes etc but it’s in no way my culture. I’m not fluent but can get by and really want my daughter to grow up learning a second language. I’ve been going to the play groups with her and invited another, non Spanish speaking, friend who also wants her son to be exposed to another language.

If you were one of the fluent moms, would you be offended that I’m budding in on your play group and trying to get better at your language even though I have no cultural ties??
