Homeschooling/Unschooling

Shellby

I know im going to get flack from this post and hopefully i wont be degraded as a mom or bullied by my choice. So as of this summer i have decided to homeschool my 5 year old son. Some people will say i need to cut the cord yes i do but there are a few reason's why i have decided to homeschool. I live in a state that constantly stresses out rushes and pushes kids to test test test test and these kids dont actual learn. They are shuffled from grade to grade feeling empty lost and confused. most of all frustrated and upset about how much homework these teachers give kid's. They flat out refuse to teach children how to sound out word's and make them study 30 spelling word's and 20 sight word's and they have to know them at the snap of a finger. So kids do not learn that way and those that learn differently are left in the dust feeling helpless. Kindergartens are left in tears at the end of the night because they have to try and read and study spelling and sight word's they have 5 page's to do. And on top of that teacher's are abusing their power over kid's they physically assault students hit them in their head's and take away food or their bag's. These teachers where i live abuse CPS to no avail. They wont speak to parents when their kid has a problem and they withhold information about kids being abused at school. They tell student's that we as their parents have no say in their education and when they walk through those school door's we stop being their parents. I personally have delt with these teachers attitudes and disrespect toward's the parents you cannot physically walk into the school and not get glared at it's out of control. If a teacher think's you abuse your kids and you get cleared of any wrong doing those teacher's will glare at you all year long wont tell you what is going on with your child for fear that you are abusive. these teachers and staff have it out for parents. And will let you feel the hate. My personal experience is so messed up it will make your blood boil. Teachers allow Cps to violate your child's right's. Our personal experience with our kids schools are not good at all. We constantly have to move our kids from school to school to try and protect them. nothing happens to the bullies who constantly bully our kid's. but the moment our kids get in trouble they are kicked out for a few day's. I am homeschooling my son to shield him from all the crap that happen's at these schools. The laws in my state Say's home schooled students dont have to take state test's or standardized test's or even have to report their progress to any agency that we dont have to grade their work till they are in the 9th grade and up. as long as we teach reading, writing, math, grammar and good citizenship. as long as they are learning from work books and videos. In my state homeschools were deamed a private school and that the state or schools have no jurisdiction in your homeschool. So i have decided that my son will be safe and will learn at his own pace and be a happy child. by the way we already started and he love's it. it has been one week and he has already memorised his 0+ fact's up to 18 and will have his first test monday he is happy and so are we.
