Anyone a first time mom... with step children?

My husbands children are 15, 13, and  10. They have already expressed that they aren’t keen on the idea of us having more children. The older two are especially bothered by the noise and the change, and the youngest WILL have a hard time not being the “baby” anymore. 😒 Any tips on how to tell them after the first trimester to lessen the blow? Thanks ladies!

I have a friend that was 15 when her mom and step dad had their first together. She didn’t like it one bit bc she was the only child and she liked it that way. Nothing will make it easier right now but my friend told me when she first met the baby she fell in love in secret. Didn’t want to tell her parents that she was happy but in time it showed and now she talks about her alllllll the time! Kids will want to be mad at something that will make a change to what they think is bad. My personal advise;Stay strong, show them how excited you are- do a one on one tell so it’s personal with each child and ask their opinion after they know. Let them feel included and go from there. When the baby comes every feeling they had will change again :) best of luck.

My son is 9 years old. I told him last night that I was having a baby and he is super excited. The youngest will adapt faster  for once they will get to be the oldest. 
My brother is 14 and I am 30. Before he was born I was annoyed and thought it was gross. I wanted nothing to do with him. My mom ignored me and my comments. BUT from the moment he was born I was instantly in love. I made bottles, changed pampers, babysat, held him at night. He called me Mom until he was 3 years old lol. He’s still my baby💕 and he’s spoiled by all of us. Our ages are 37, 31, 30 and 27...we all play a role in raising him.

A couple stories for you...first one my half sister is 10 years older than me and she lived with her Dad full-time while I was being raised by our Mom and my Dad. She hated me growing up...I think mostly out of jealousy. Anyways she used to have nasty temper tantrums about how “you guys always make me play with her!” (I literally have this on video)...fast forward and we are legit best friends. I think every relationship takes time and I do think your other children will come around. 
Second story is actually about a coworker of mines brother and sister in law. He has twins (boy and a girl) from a previous relationship and then together they have one son. The twins live with them and their step mom has been in their lives since they were 7. It’s absolutely disgusting how they favorite their child together over the twins. These kids are great kids...seriously the most kind, respectful kids I’ve ever met in my life but they still get Cinderella’d. Maybe your step children are voicing concerns about another baby more because they are worried a situation like this will happen to them. Obviously the fact that you’re asking how to handle the situation proves you are a good person and want what’s best for everyone.
