Anyone thinking about weaning?

My daughter is 14 months old and still nurses day and night. My goal was to make it to a year and have always thought 15-18 months as my max.... I guess I’ve been feeling more torn lately. A big part of me wants to wean as we start to talk about a second child and I’ve just felt so drained lately but I also want to be sensitive to my daughter. She never took a pacifier and has always been very attached to nursing. Anyone else struggling with how to handle weaning?

Yes I was hoping she’d naturally lose interest but that hasn’t happened yet. Somedays I’m ready to wean but other days when she’s really fussy it’s the only thing that calms her & puts her in a good mood. She’s a huge comforter nurser so part of me feels bad about taking it away. I took the pacifier away after she turned 1 (14 months on the 3rd) but she hasn’t let the bottle or nursing go. I think I’ll get her off of the bottle first

Oh god. Ours boobs all night long. I want to wean for sure. But I’ve been reading that the best time to start weaning is when they can communicate and understand what’s happening. Which is 15 months +.

My sister had officially weaned her 2 year old the day before her 2nd birthday. When my little dude was 12 months old I asked my sister how she did it and she told me to substitute snacks and foods for breastfeedings (one feeding dropped every 1-2 weeks) and to space breastfeedings out to 2 hours before meals or 1 hour after meals. 2 months later and we have cut breastfeedings down to every 6 hours and when I give him cows milk from a cup he has the option to snuggle with me.
