Hitting your kids?

Question

so, this is probably beating a dead horse, but I'm curious. I'm 16, and I'm pretty against the idea of hitting a kid beyond the age of three and nothing but spankings. I want to know actual moms view on it. 
PS before anyone @s me, I'm NOT a mom, I don't have any intentions to be one, I'm just a curious person.

I think maybe a small swat on the butt is okay, but using a belt or any other method is not okay in my opinion.

I grew up getting spanked by a hand, fly squatter, shoes, belts. Anything. It didn’t ruin me one bit, I feel I am very disciplined. I wouldn’t get whipped unless I did something seriously bad. Which was rare. Now I have a 14 month old and I slap his hands when he tries to touch the outlets and he pulls the protectors off, or just when he’s getting into something and he doesn’t listen when I tell him no. I don’t slap him hard. I couldn’t see myself using objects other than my hands to whip him. Once he’s older then I will punish him other ways such as taking things away, and not letting him go out with friends. Stuff like that. But I don’t plan on having to whip him forever if that makes sense. I always said I wouldn’t but it’s the only way he gets my point sometimes.

Yeah belts are fine..Not on kids younger than 7 though:/ i would just make younger kids go to time out

My husband and I have talked about this, as far as spankings go we both grew up getting spanked and agree that it’s good up until they’re too old for it. Now here’s my hisbands and I’s controversial views once they’re young adults if they do something that would warrant being hit, ( forcing themselves on someone, or the like ) like hit them? I mean it’s never out of anger it’s like what if thats what you need to do? People tend to be sensitive to it since they’re your children but like no child of mine is going to hurt someone if i can help it you know?
