Smoking Weed While Breastfeeding?

I didn't smoke my whole pregnancy and now that I had my baby I really just want to smoke, ofcourse not all day every day but today I just really want to. Is it okay? Did anybody smoke while breastfeeding?

What you put in your body is passed through breast milk. I don’t know what properties of marijuana would passed wether it’s thc or not but it’s up to you if you feel comfortable doing that. I guess you could always pump and dump. But you’d have to do your research on how long marijuana stays in the system per frequency of usage.

I used to smoke as well, and quit during pregnancy. I plan to breastfeed, and wondered if I could smoke after he's born. What I found is that it is not like alcohol where it metabolizes out of your system in a couple hours. Because THC is fat soluble it sticks to the fat in your body AND your breastmilk, it hangs out in your system longer. Although it's a very minute amount that passes to baby, it's up to you whether is worth it or not.

I have heard from friends that it can mess up how much milk you are producing. I don’t know how true it is. I just personally wouldn’t. Obviously the choice is yours though :-)

Personally I wouldn’t do it I’m not really a smoker anyway but my friend basically smoked her whole pregnancy and while she breastfed he’s now 2 and she’s been doing it ever since birth he’s was healthy and still is so idk I think it’s your choice and what you feel comfortable with ❤️
