Do I use the middle name as what she goes by?

My husbands cousin named their baby the same name as our baby but they have different middle and last names and idk I guess I’m a little upset they did it if I would have known that’s the name they had picked out before our baby was born I would have changed it as I didn’t know what I was having they did so now I’m wondering if I should just have her go by her middle name?

Use her first name. You shouldn’t have to call your baby by her middle name just because someone named their baby the same thing.

Honestly the only person it will bother is you. Kids tend to think it's cool to share a name with a friend or family member.

Right after my sister had her daughter ( 5 years ago) we found out our cousin named her baby girl the same thing just a month before. We aren’t all super close so none of us on either side of the family knew. (Everyone gets along- just don’t keep in touch). It ended up not being a big deal at all. The girls are actually good friends and think it’s really cool that they have the same name. On an unrelated story, my lifelong best friend and I share the same name and we became friends in preschool just because we have the same name. Kids usually think it’s cool. I totally understand your concern! But I think you should do what you want without being concerned about the other child’s name :)
