Cutting out sugar or carbs ?? Which one will help me lose weight faster?

So I’ve tried the whole counting calories thing and it really did work! However I’ve let myself go again! I eat an average amount of sugar (maybe a few biscuits and/or some chocolate per day) but I overly reply on carbs for energy (pasta, crackers, toast). If I was to start to lose weight (this is aside from exercise) which do you recommend I try cutting out of my diet? Or rather, which will have more effective/faster results?

Cutting out carbs? Or cutting out sugar?

(FYI- yes I know it’s not possible to cut out either completely as it is important for maintaining a healthy diet)
