$5000 wedding budget??!!?!

my fiance only wants to spend $5000 on our wedding. total. for everything. and I'm thinking that it will be really hard to do it for that cheap.🙄 I was thinking more around $8000 or $9000

My first wedding we did a really casual public park wedding, pot luck style food, for 140 people. We spent $5000 on everything, including a 5 day cruise to the Caribbean. It's totally possible!

(Minus my ring) our wedding cost $2,500. That included my dress, the venue (married outside) a sit down 3 course meal for 3 people, photography, invites, favors everything. We spent another $3,000 on our honeymoon because we wanted a nice vacation. Neither of us had ever been on an actual vacation before.

It depends on the kind of wedding you want. A friend of mine spent about $6000 Canadian on her wedding. But she had it at her family farm and it was a very causal and small affair. It was still beautiful and she loved her day! For me, that's just not what I'm looking for. My budget is $15,000 Canadian and mostly because of the venue (a hotel ballroom in the mountains during high season and they're catering a 4-course meal). My wedding is very formal and the things I want just couldn't be done for $5,000 at all. We wanted to do it for $10,000 but the venue was too expensive so we're just taking money out of our honeymoon fund instead because we love the venue. 
So it totally depends on what you want. It's surprising how expensive things get even when you're cutting deals and using family/friends to help with things like music. If you want expensive things I don't think $5000 is possible, but if you want a more simple wedding it's totally possible and can still be a beautiful event.

I think if u have 30 people at the weddings its doable. U will also have to make many of the decorations. Ur dress can't be over $500. The problem is the venue, so if u find a place that u don't have to pay, like a church or park it will be easier.

Our wedding cost around $5000. Find a venue that isn’t known as a “wedding venue”. We had ours in the beer garden of the oldest restaurant in Texas (Austin). The reception was held in their adjoining hall, total venue cost was $1400-and we had it all day, from 9 am-2am (beer garden from 2pm-6pm)! 
 
Other tips: you could have non floral centerpieces-that saves a ton of $. Look for wedding dresses that are on sale, or at consignment stores. Or, you could even order a long dress that’s technically a bridesmaid’s dress, but order it in white, ivory, blush, etc. David’s bridal has some beautiful designer ones!

We spent around $6000. Things to absolutely NOT skimp on - venue, dress, and photographer!  Maybe a DJ, too. Everything else, you can find relatively cheap, like decorations. You can hit the sales at hobby lobby and save a ton.

Depends on so many things. How many people will attend? Are you having an inside or outside ceremony/reception? It’s absolutely doable. I run a convention center and I’ve seen it done hundreds of times.

We were given $5,000 from my in laws. It covered most of the wedding. I think they ended up paying like $5,600 for the venue which included the ceremony & the reception/dinner/dj/ day of wedding organizer/ tables & table coverings etc. My grandpa & uncle are wedding photographers so we got that for free. I paid for everything extra. My dress (brand new & $150 on eBay!) my hair, my centerpieces (I picked the most real looking fake flowers I could find), cable holders & river rocks from the dollar store, and some other random decor. Plus we paid $100 to have someone make a cake topper & cake pops! I’d say it’s totally doable, but if it goes over a little you have to be flexible.

It also really depends on how many people you plan on inviting. My husband and I had about 50 people at our wedding. Then venue for the ceremony was $1700 and included the cake, photographer, and invitations. (It was kind of an all inclusive boutique type of place for people wanting nice small weddings.) Then we had our reception in the party room of one of our favorite restaurants. They served bread and dipping oil, and we picked 2 types of salads and 2 types of pastas for people to choose from. And it was served family style, so each table had their own portions, and that was about $1200 w/ tip. We did macarons in these cute monogram boxes as favors, which cost about $180. So we stayed well within the budget we planned and had what we wanted. We didn't want a huge wedding with dancing, dj, photo booth, open bar, etc. We wanted it small intimate and meaningful. Definitely think about what's most important to you, and how many people you want to invite. I think if you are reasonable you can stay within your budget!
