Does clomid affect cycle length?

Hi ladies!

Tomorrow I have an appt for my baseline ultrasound to start clomid. I was wondering if I can expect it to change my cycle at all. I usually have a crazy long cycle (35-38 days, ovulating around CD 18-20), and I am hoping that it doesn't get any longer (waiting is already hard enough)!

What can I expect with clomid? I am new to this. I will likely be doing ovidrel as well and timed intercourse (we wanted to do IUI this month but it isn't an option since we will be on vacation during that window 😔). Any insight and advice is welcomed! Thank you in advance. 😊

Hi! It lengthened my cycle by two days. I have a short LP so this was a blessing.

I have been on clomid 50mg twice and got pregnant both times. The first ended in a missed miscarriage, but I am currently 10 weeks. My cycles were also long - the low dose didn't really change my ovulation day - still ovulated on days 18 and 20 each time. I think if you take a higher mg it might shorten your cycles a bit. Just remember long cycle doesn't mean you won't conceive! Sometimes your body just needs an extra push.

Also I recommend you to take clomid at night so you can sleep through the side effects. You'll most like have some night sweats. I was really hungry and moody on clomid. Good Luck!
