Proposing while pregnant??

Question

Does anyone else really dislike when couples get engaged after they find out their pregnant?? Or proposals at baby showers?? 
To me personally  it seems like the man is only doing it because he feels like it’s the right thing to do, not because he actually loves his S/O and wants to marry her. 
Do y’all feel the same way??

I told my husband (when we were dating) that if I ever became pregnant out of wedlock, that he better NOT propose because I would feel like he was “only trying to do the right thing.”
Unfortunately, this happened to a lot of my high school classmates (not while in HS) and more often then not, a lot of them ended up being single moms or divorced. I’m not saying that will happen but there were only a handful of them who got married and remained married.

My fiancé told me that’s why he didn’t want to propose when I was pregnant. He didn’t want people to assume. But it’s nobodies business except theirs so I don’t see why it concerns you

I always wanted to be married before having children. If you get engaged/married afterwards, you never really know if your husband would have proposed to you anyway, or if he only did it to “do the right thing” because of the pregnancy/kids.

You don't have to be married to have a baby, so no, it doesn't seem like it's out of obligation.

I definitely can see how most of the time the man feels obligated to propose and not genuinely doing it because he planned on proposing. 
It’s a legitimate concern for all parties involved. I’d hope that my own children and family members would receive proposals for the right reasons and not some forced obligation.

My first ex did it and at the time, I wasn’t complaining but I always hated it thinking back. It was a relationship built on conflict and necessity. Sure, it’s not my life, and other women are clearly happy for it, but my bf better fucking know he’s hiring a photographer for the occasion and I expect to look amazing...not super pregnant and bloated. That would irk the hell out of me.
