Going to the dermatologist...

For the first time this afternoon due to an acne break out on my chin. I've never have severe acne before but it is just so red and hurting and covers my chin. What can I expect? Think they will prescribe me something? Did going to the dermatologist work for you?? My wedding is in 2 month and I'm desperate!
