Lots of Pain!

I recently bought a menstrual cup and this is my first period trying it. I tried (and failed) to put it in about 5 times and now there is a lot of pain (mix between burning and stabbing) down there... I’m a virgin so I don’t know if I was trying to put it in the wrong hole😬 (I searched a picture online and think I was putting it in the right hole) or if it’s just a thing many people deal with when first trying a cup. I really want this to work but I need some help! Thanks💗
