Would it be a deciding factor?

If you were deciding between a couple names, both after family, and one of them passed away during the pregnancy, would that settle the name for you on that persons?

What if you did both names- one as a middle? Honestly I'd just talk to your grandfather, it sounds like you're close if you're considering the name. Tell him you'd love to use an honor name for this baby if she "looks" like a Danielle upon arrival, or maybe for her future sister. I think he will be touched by the gesture regardless and then you don't need to fully commit and feel badly about it later.

Let me elaborate, we know we are having a girl, and had narrowed it down between naming her after my mom, Rebecca, and my uncle, Daniel (Danielle), and now my uncle is really not doing well and won't make it to the end of the pregnancy. I want to tell him before he passes that that's what her name will be, and just go with it, but my husband doesn't want me to commit to a name until she's born.....

My boy name and my girl names I have picked out honor members of my family. My mom, who is still alive, and my grandfather, who passed away in 2008. I have my grandmothers middle name, she passed away in 2009. So, I figured I would use my moms middle name 😊 but, it's not a necessity if I feel like something else fits better... My grandfather, though, he doesn't have anyone to honor him.

Hell yes. My grandmother passed away a couple of weeks before i found out i was pregnant. If i have a daughter, she will be named after her.

It depends on how close that person was to you two. If they weren't that close I wouldn't name my child after them but if they were really close and around alot then it would help push towards naming the child after them
