How was your doctor monitoring your Clomid cycle?

I start clomid on Thursday! I’m just curious how your doctor monitored you! 😇 
CD3 - FSH LEVELS 
CD 5-9  CLOMID 
CD 10 FSH LEVELS 
CD 21 PROGESTERONE LEVELS 
How was your cycle different? I see posts about getting ultrasounds? I’m not sure why my provider hasn’t scheduled those. I know for sure anything fertility related isn’t covered by my health insurance, maybe that is why. Ultrasounds are expensive. 🙄
Also, what are trigger shots? Please comment! ⬇️

Ultrasounds are done starting around CD10 to monitor the follicle growth and make sure the Clomid is actually working. The follicles are measured and when mature enough you get a trigger shot which forces ovulation 36 hours later so you know when exactly to have sex or get an IUI.

When I was on letrozole, which is similar to clomid, they did a baseline ultrasound at cd3 (before starting the medicine). Then they did an ultrasound on day 10 to see if the follicles are big enough. I did the trigger shot (ovidrel) a couple days later. It makes you ovulate within 48 hours.

My clinic has done this for my clomid only cycles:
Cd1-3: get an ultrasound on one of those days to make sure I don’t have any ovarian cysts, which would mean no clomid that month 
Cd3-5: start clomid one of those days and take for 5 days 
Cd10: start opk testing once per day between 10-11 am using Clearblue digital easy. Keep testing until I get a positive 
Sometime mid-cycle, usually around cd16 since I ovulate later: come in for an ultrasound to see how many follicles are maturing. If there are too many, I’m out for the month. If I have a mature follicle (16mm or bigger) but haven’t gotten a positive opk by cd16, they have me do a trigger shot to force ovulation.

My doctor does a mid cycle ultrasound to check follicle growth & lining & then on CD21 he does the progesterone test by blood work. 
My first cycle on clomid didn’t work so I will begin round II Thursday.
