HELP YA GIRL OUT!!

Hiya y'all. I need a little help!! I'm down on myself majorly and have gained some weight I weight 189 and I really want to lose it and get to a healthy weight and everything. I know the basics, like exercise water and watch what you eat to a degree. I've saw a lot of ladies on here say just walking helped them lose weight! Is that true? I need motivation and tips on what y'all did
