What to expect after getting Mirena?

Hey guys I’ve set my appointment to get Mirena on Friday (I didn’t have too many options for BC because of a history of aura migraines). 
What should I expect pain and spotting/bleeding wise after?
How long did it take you for your body to get used to the IUD??

Mine hurt like an intense period cramp for a bit. I got mine inserted the first day of my period so I feel like I was extra crampy from that, but the cramps were so bad I couldn’t stand up. But I used a heating pad, and otc meds and that helped. Afterwards I spotted for like a month and a half, and now nothing, I only get an occasional intense cramping. I also got acne a bit afterwards but it’s slowly becoming less prominent. Just give your body time to adjust and be patient. Every person is different, so don’t read into too many horror stories

The pain is more with the instruments they use to insert. I've had a pretty ok experience besides a lot longer periods (mine went from 7 days to 2 months the longest so far, but I also had a baby in dec and got my Mirlena this May)

I'm in the same boat. just got it yesterday took 20 mins overall, only 10 for her to insert it but I was a more difficult case. so far I've had cramping but no spotting.

I got this iud in January so about 6 months ago. What a wild ride it was. Having it inserted was like an intense period cramp (never had kids) and I felt dizzy after so I’d have someone drive you to your appointment Incase. I was fine that day with a heating pad and some Advil. I know that the following symptoms are supposed to go away within weeks but I had them for the whole 6 months; cramping, spotting, pain with sex, vaginal dryness, headaches, and I could actually feel my iud if I sat or stood in a certain position. So overall it wasn’t working for me and I had it removed a few weeks ago. Taking it out was a breeze I didn’t feel it at all. I’ve been on basically every other type of BC that there is accept the implant.

ive had mine for 3 years and ny body still isnt use to it it still hurts me ive made an appointment to have .ine removed and if i stretch up to grab something it causes me to bleed
