Group b strep ladies??

Been diagnosed with group b strep, anyone else had it? Whatsyour experiences?

I had it with my first. Just had to get iv antibiotics while I was on labor, and we stayed an extra night in the hospital for the dr to keep an eye on our son. We were fine. I wasn't crazy about my son getting dosed up with antibiotics as he entered the world though. I'm pretty sure that's why he struggles with eczema now. However, a woman I used to know waived the antibiotics and her son ended up blind and mentally disabled.

I had it with my first but not my second. Just when you go into labor just tell them that you have it and they'll start you on the antibiotic and you'll be good :)

I have... it really doesn’t matter too much. The only shitty part is that for my first pregnancy I broke my water and didn’t have contractions yet... the “healthy way” would have been to wait until the contractions start but since I was strep b they were worried my baby gets infected so they induced me right away
