All-in-2 or covers?

Question

Ive used all-in-2 before and i like having the snap in inserts so the shell doesnt have to be washed every time...iv recently been interested in prefolds or flats with covers? Which do you refer and why? Im not due til January so i have plenty of time to research and figure it out

I bought a bunch of Buttons diapers. I wasn’t a fan of unsnapping them when dirty or soiled! Plus I got worried the snaps were uncomfortable for my baby. 
I love one size covers with the front and back flap like Flip or Diaper Rite with flats!

I like flats and prefolds. Secure either with a snappi or pins. Or you can always padfold either to fit in the cover. Even padfolded they don't move around. The cover is snug enough to hold them in place.

I think they’re pretty comparable. AI2 likely easier to get on. Prefolds and flats would be cheaper.

I have a skinny baby so everything I prefer is a two parter. AIOs leak really bad on him!
I like the AI2s because they gave me no leaks at all really, the only problem I had was red marks, however that was more my baby and not trying loads of different brands.
I haven't really used prefolds because my baby is too small and it was a bit of a faff, I may try again at some point but I do worry about the absorbency as he pees a lot.
Im actually using two part shaped nappies mostly now. This is to get around the red marks mostly while my little one fills out a bit.
They are all made of bamboo so very kind on his skin,the most absorbent nappy ever! You can reuse the wrap lots of times too. you can use them for a long time overnight with no leaks. Only issue is they take longer to dry, but this is ok in this weather and if you have plenty of nappies. The brands I use are Little Lambs in the day and Totsbots bamboozle at night, although if you're in US I dunno if they are available

I personally don't care for prefolds, at least not as the main diaper. I prefer using flats and I'll either fold it around a prefold or lay the prefold on top on the folded flat for added absorbency at night. Prefolds by them self though for some reason just annoyed me more than anything. Besides, I find flats hold in poop much better depending on the fold (I do airplane and roll in the legs).
