Depo after Birth?

Anyone taken the depo shot? If so do you like it? I know you can get it in the hospital after birth but what about the bleeding? Is it worse? I’m a ftm and not sure what birth control I want

My suggestion is don’t depo does more harm than good. I was on it and it really decreases my chances of getting pregnant. It’s been about 4 years since I have been off and I’m just really getting back to normal well my new normal. But hey you might not have the same side affects. Just do your research on it. I wish I did.

I had it after birth n I hardly had my period but one thing I hated was that i gained a lot of weight. I weighted after birth 160 and when I got the depo in those 3 months when I went to get my second I was already in 189. I stop after that and now I’m on the implant the one that goes in your arm. I love it I have no complains but every body is different

I have tried pills and the nuvaring before and couldn’t do it. Other than Loestrin 24fe and they have discontinued it. I have endometriosis so I don’t need to have a period at all and I’m scared the iud would hurt exp since the scar tissue

my pro was no period until i stopped. my con is i gained 30 lbs in 3 months with regular exercise and walking two miles everyday in the middle of summer. i wouldnt do it again personally.
