Family Name

So both of our boys are named after family members, their names are Bentlee David and Spencer Stewart. We're having another boy and I really want to name him after my grandpa, his name was William Oatley. My uncle and his son are both named William so I really want to name him Oatley. My main concern with this is how my family will take it. When I told my dad he said there would never be anyone to stand up to the name like my Popa and now I'm worried that the rest of my family may feel hurt in some way if we did name him after him. Also is the name to "old timey?"
