Paragard Copper IUD?

Question

So I just got Paragard insterted today and have been feeling really crampy and I have light bleeding. I'm really nervous to start having sex again because I don't want my partner to be able to feel the strings! I'm also nervous that it might be expelled if I move around too much. I know I'm probably just over thinking things and worrying for no reason but If someone could comment their experiences that would help!

I've had my paragard for about 3 months now.. The day of insertion I had really sharp cramps until I fell asleep and felt totally fine the following day. When I checked my strings for the first time they felt extremely long and I was afraid that my IUD had expelled, so I went to my doctor to check it out, turn out my IUD was fine, but they didn't trim the strings enough when they inserted it. They fixed the problem that day and I haven't had any issues since. My boyfriend never feels the strings during sex. I have him check the strings once a month and it takes him a minute to find them because they are shorter and curled up by my cervix. My first period with the paragard was heavier but not much heavier than the periods I used to have before I was on the pill, totally manageable! I have cramps but they don't nearly hurt as much as they did directly after insertion. Something that makes me worry sometimes is that since this IUD has no hormones, my body is slowly adjusting to its own rhythm again after being on the pill and having 28 day cycles every month. Sometimes my period seems late, but I'm not pregnant. Good luck! I love mine so far!

I hade it for a year and a half, then decided it was time to conceive. I waited two days before doing the deed, just because I was so crampy. After that it was free for all, you so should not be able to feel the strings if the if was inserted properly, if he does feel them you can go back and have the strings cut. After a month of having it I did a self check of the strings to ensure it settled the way it should.

It's going to be uncomfortable for a few days because you've put a foreign object in your body. You should check your strings at least once a month. If your partner feels strings have your dr trim them or when you check them just gently move them back. I choose to also use condoms in addition to it because I really really don't want any more children. I've read about every type birth control failing.. Nothing is 100%, even sterilization isn't.

Ive had it since april an i definitely have harder and longer periods. It was very uncomfortable for the first few days. My cramps get pretty intense even when im not on my period sometimes. Sex is the upside to having the IUD! Good luck

I had it for awhile a few months i was reallt jittery. Couldnt really sleep just didnt feel myself. Finally settled down. Then after 10 months i found i was pregnant with ny second child one month b4 my first sons 1year bday.
