acne and birth control

I was just prescribed Doxycycline Hyclate for my acne, which is an oral antibiotic. Because it’s an antibiotic, I am worried about it changing how effective my birth control pills are. The doctor and the pharmacist gave me different answers about it. Has anyone taken this/know anything about this?
