I like that my dog barks at the door. I live alone so its like a "security alarm" lol sometimes though she'll just bark at random noises tho.

I'm actually ok with my dogs barking when they hear knocking or the doorbell. As long as they are not trying to push out the door or jump on people coming in.

If you really want him to stop, I would try to distract them when the door bell goes off. Try a squeaky toy. Or, using a friend, have them ring the bell, shush or give he command to quiet your dog, every time he's quiet give him the good treats, like cheese, cooked chicken, or peanut butter. Repeat often until he seems to be getting it. He need to associate something else with the doorbells.

When my parents had dogs, their barking was out of control. So they got them barking collars. It was one that would shock them, but it was definitely humane and my parents gave them breaks from it. The collars they got worked on a level system based on how much the dog barked. BUT if the dog barked more than 6 times, it turned itself off so that the shock wouldnt be too much. The 6th level made them wimper, but it never did any serious damage.

I honestly like it when my dogs bark when someone comes to the door. I'm home alone most of the week so it makes me feel safer knowing they'll bark at someone who's not usually around. Sounds weird, I know.

Let me know how that turns out,we have been trying for ages without succes so I kind of gave up.
What you could try is ringing that bel a hundred times a day so he should get desensibled to it.If the bel is ringing all the time and he doesn't associate it with visitors anymore he should stop barking or reacting to it
