I need help

I kind of feelings for this guy but he lives in different state. I live in New York and He lives in Connecticut. He has a great personality and he is only two years older than me. He is afraid of falling in love because what happened to he and his ex. And we talk as friends but we have gotten really closed for the pass week. I don’t know what to do. He is cute but looks don’t matter to me. What should I do? I don’t want to push him away because of my feelings if I say it to him.
