Hi ladies,

if you have some advice in this subject it would be very appreciated. so i’m 19, I just got my first yeast infection. It could be from stress, wearing my bathing suit for too long this week, or anything. But either way i have it. 4 days ago i noticed an itch, but no discharge. my boyfriend and i had sex, he went down on me. the next day i was still itchy, and yesterday i saw THE discharge. so i got it checked, and the pharmacist recommended Monistat, and i got the 7 day treatment. I did my first treatment a little while ago. Anyway i have a few questions, and if you can answer any, please do:

1) When my boyfriend and i had sex 4 days ago, i didn’t know i had a yeast infection, i just thought i was itchy for some reason, if he’s had no symptoms, and his mouth and genitals look normal, is there still a high chance of him getting a yeast infection, or oral thrush? or is that window gone because he hasn’t had any symptoms yet?

2) I know I have to wait a week for my treatment to be completed but if it works, how long should I wait to have sex so I don’t put him at risk for contracting anything?

3) Do you have any positive experiences with Monistat?

4) Any other information would be helpful
