Is it too early to start looking for day care?

My sister is a pro at having babies, she is on number 3 and I am now on my first. However, we were discussing today about things that I should be doing right now. One of the things she mentioned was to start looking for day care! I am only 6 weeks, close to 7. When is it a good time to start looking? It’s not that I am doubting her, but I need more suggestions as I don’t want to look like a fool asking to interview at places.

Depends on your market. Our market you HAVE to look this early to get on a waiting list. There is a major infant care shortage where I live.

Daycare is super competitive where I live, and I’ve already started contacting them and getting on wait lists at 6+2.

with my daughter we got on the wait list to the one at my work at 12 weeks. she was born in November and we got off the wait list for that one the next August 😳 We were able to find a great daycare while I was on maternity leave though, and we kept her there even after getting off the wait list at the other place! it just depends on what you want. doesn't hurt to start looking at them now!
