As far as I can tell, his parents never sought to publicize that they weren't donating to their son's campaign. And when some reporters discovered it and first reported on it, his reaction was much more reasonable: he was like "well, they're lifelong democrats, they always do that, no big deal." But now he's writing opinion pieces on it and saying that  they are intolerant and have broken up their family, but I can't help but thing he's trying to play a victim to pander to his base. It also sounds crazy to me that this guy is denying his kids a relationship with their grandparents because he doesn't like that they didn't financially support his campaign!
