Tummy time hurting my babe?

She absolutely HATES tummy time , as soon as she sees the mat she bursts into tears... I don’t want her crying to affect her negatively but she needs tummy time 😪 I’ve tried everything ! She wont even lay on my chest without crying

I would just stop for now and try again later. Tummy time is not necessary and your baby will still hit all their milestones when they are supposed to.

Have you tried rolling a small towel or blanket and placing it under your LO's arms to prop LO up a bit? That helped my LO in the beginning. He is 6 months now and LOVES tummy time so it doesn't last forever.

I never did tummy time with my first or second since they both were holding their heads up by two weeks and sitting by 3 months

Mine hated tummy time. She could sit at 4 months, but couldn’t roll until 9 months. Which means she missed all her transition pieces from one position to another. She was so frustrated! We ended up doing some PT and that helped so much. We didn’t even really have to do tummy time in PT. They were able to help us find solutions that worked for her and that she wanted to do.

Have daycare do it...then you don’t hear the crying.  That was our solution.  (There might be better ones).

I bought an exercise ball and rolled him back and forth on it. Acting as if it was a game.

Mine used to HATE it! Omg he screamed his little head off lol I wouldn’t push it just try it for a second when he screams pick him up and give him lots of breaks so he’s not getting all worked up. Now that my sons can lift his head and scoot around he loves tummy time. Give yours some more time be will get there 😊

My kids hated theirs too. Cried the whole time. But they need it 🤷
