Only ultrasound at 20 weeks?

I just had my first visit with my GP today at 6w2d. I see the OB at the maternity clinic around 10 weeks. My GP said I don’t need a dating ultrasound because I know the first day of my last period so I won’t get an ultrasound until about 20 weeks. Is that normal? I kind of expected one sooner to see if there was a heart beat and only one etc!

It's normal. A lot of the early ultrasounds are done for high risk mamas, or are paid for out of pocket at a private ultrasound place.

Normal...they’ll prob just listen for a heartbeat instead.

I think that’s normal. I did get a vaginal ultrasound to confirm date but after that my OB hasn’t done another one. I’m 37 weeks. I am high risk and a specialist checked me at 20 weeks. But that’s it.

that could be right. I had an US at 7w but I had light spotting so I think they wanted to make sure I was okay

yep its normal... i was told the same with this pregnancy that i would get my first ultrasound until 20weeks but i jad my first earlier at 6weeks 1day as i was having dark red spotting i've had 4 scans done since then

9wks 6days
15weeks 6days

Yes, that's normal.  Doctors do less ultrasounds these days...unless you/baby are high risk for something.
