Your experience with the depo shot?

I’m getting it sometime soon so I want to know what your personal experience is whether it’s good or bad. I feel like I heard all the horror stories and birth control horror stories in general. I just curious to hear more, lol.

I was on the depo for a year and I only gained about 8lbs my weight stayed consistent at about the 6months mark, hasn’t changed since then. 
For me my period completely stopped, no drastic change BUT I started to get horrible horrible mood swings to the point it almost ruined my relationship. I was always angry and seemed like I always had fuel inside me to go off on anyone at any time. It’s weird because it only happened after this past shot which is why I’m iffy about going back to get it back! 
My next shot is due I August and I’m only contemplating because of my mood swing that happened besides that can’t complain about anything else

I’ve been on it for five months (i’ve had two shots). I bled for about five days and that’s it. Haven’t had any bleeding or my period since. I haven’t gained any weight or had any crazy symptoms. I have PCOS and it has been a life saver for me and has even cleared up some of my acne. But its different for everyone.

I was on it for 6 months , but I didn’t gain any weight , my appetite increased a little , my periods were a little abnormal. I got my shot and had sex the next day without any other protection, didn’t end up pregnant until I immediately came off of it. But everyone’s body is different.

My periods stopped. That was the only good side effect.
I was always hungry so even though i was trying to diet (i had joined weight watchers) i still gained weight - I honestly think it would have been more if I wasn’t on the diet because i was going on holiday at the time. 
I was extremely moody, id snap at anyone about anything and id have days where I struggled to get up in the morning because i felt so down. I got diagnosed with depression and my anxiety was through the roof. 
I was tired for no apparent reason, i could sit down and fall asleep anywhere and I’ve never been able to do that. 
My skin was greasy and id get the most painful spots.
I lost my sex drive, i had absolutely no interest in men. one night a gorgeous man was talking to me, my gbf kept telling me to get in there but I honestly hadn’t even noticed this guy. My gbf put a picture of him on Facebook and everyone was asking why I didn’t swap numbers or anything. 
I decided not to have a 3rd shot, I didn’t feel like me. I bled for 3 weeks with cramps every other day then had no periods til may, my periods are not regular and my doctor says it could take upto a year to regulate them.
I honestly don’t recommend the shot.

All I know is wait to have sex after you get it. Follow thru the drs orders cuz you can get pregnant if you have sex within the first 24 hours of getting it
