No more swaddling?

Question

So today my almost three month baby rolled from her back to her tummy, then from her tummy to her back. Does this mean I have to stop swaddling her tonight?

the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends against swaddling after 8 weeks. sleep sacks are safe.

Yes you need to stop swaddling but I would start with the one arm out. My son hated that and transitioned into a sleep sack pretty well but it’s definitely a transition. It’ll take a couple nights of multiple wake ups but they’ll get used to it.

If you have a swaddle where you can unswaddle one arm at a time I’d do that for a little while before completely transitioning out of a swaddle (such as the Love to Dream or Halo). Otherwise you’ll have some very sleepless nights for a while😴
