Advice?
So, I’ve been in college since I was 17. (I graduated a year early.) I started out at Brown Mackie College.
When I started in 2015, they were accredited. By Fall 2016, I had already received 40 credit hours and I only needed 20 to graduate. Well, in the Summer 2016 quarter, they lost their accreditation for MULTIPLE reasons. I transferred to the local community college in my town, but I lost all my credit hours and they won’t transfer them since they lost the accreditation.
I lost $14,000, 40 credit hours, and 10 months of my life because of this. I’m currently 20, going on my 3rd year of college just for my associate degree. I was going for CJ, now I’m going for BA.
I’m currently taking school off so I can focus on my daughter when she’s born, focus on work so I can move up in the company I work for. (the entire reason why I changed majors. I work for Red Bull Distribution Company - North America).
Every semester since 2016 when I started the new school, I’ve failed at least one class (got a D. Failed by SAP’s eyes). I’m $10,000 in debt because of having to retake classes, pay out of pocket for classes, etc.
I guess my question is, should I continue to put school back to focus on my daughter and work or continue to put myself in debt?
My job doesn’t require me to have a degree, but they always look more favorably on those who do. They pay for your school after you’ve been full time for a year- I’ve been with the company for 1.5 years, but I’ve only been full time for almost a month.
