birth control

I get bad cramps (like to the point that I can't walk sometimes ) I told my mom and she recommends birth control I'm 15 and don't k is a lot about it and when I tried to look it up I got lost in a sea of articals and still have no clue so I'm takin to the help of us can ye help with some facts (pros con etc) I would be very appreciative
