Nitrous Oxide During Labor

✨🌟✨

For those of you who don’t know!

I was talking to my doctor about how I didn’t get an epidural during my first birth (not by choice) and how I would love one this time. I wasn’t able to get one because she came too fast and they didn’t admit me in time.

My doctor said, “you know you can ask for nitrous and a lot of women are choosing this option”. She then proceeded to tell me that she was delivering a baby earlier that week, the mother had chosen nitrous. The woman laboring looked at my doctor and said, “I’m so glad that baby’s finally out!!”. .....the baby wasn’t out yet! 😳😳 and she had to let her know she still had to push, lol.

She told me, it doesn’t take the pain away, but it makes you forget you’re having it.

It’s out of your system within a few breaths and doesn’t effect you, the baby, or your milk.

I just wanted to share this in case you weren’t sure to go natural/epidural and aren’t aware there’s another option.

Ask your doctor if it’s something your hospital offers! 😘
