Paraguard?

Has anyone had issues with the Paraguard? I'm about to get it inserted soon, (My OBGYN is ordering it) so I wanted to know if there is anything I should look out for.

I’ve had the Copper IUD about 1.5 years, and it’s great because I really feel my sex drive came back. (I switched to this because I felt the other forms of birth control were messing with my hormones and drive) 
However be prepared for BAD cramps and heavy bleeding. It honestly took about 8 months for it to finally settle a bit, and even now some periods are with really bad cramps, the rest just bad cramps. 🤷🏻‍♀️😕. BUT, to me it’s worth it.

I love it. In the beginning I had heavy flows and was really emotional on my period but now my periods are light and I only have cramps the day before my period. Sex drive came back too after switching from mirena. It’s been 10 month with it in and I haven’t gotten pregnant so it works for me.

Pretty much what everyone else has said. Insertion sucked, so take other pain med of choice before and after. Maybe have someone drive you home (depending on your pain tolerance level), and if you can take the rest of the day off to rest. Other than that easy peasy!
