Why are schools now asking for headphones?

Hello! I live in Georgia, USA and I'm new to this since my child is barely entering kindergarten this year, but why is it they are asking for headphones? personally I don't think they're necessary.

Probably for the computer/tablet. They get to learn about technology now☺️

Kindergarten is not what it was when you were in it. It’s more like first grade. They will be using technology and having things read to them, etc.. 
The teacher isn’t going to request things for no reason

Possibly they are going to be using a computer to learn. Which is stupid considering thats what the teacher is for.

Technology has become such a staple now that they start teaching them very young so they aren’t behind when they get older.

They probably have a station set up for some kind of learning tool and it’s not sanitary to share (kids are gross lol).

My son’s teachers require them for computer class and their iPads. He’s now in 2nd grade and they still ask..

I teach kindergarten and during small group reading time, one station is Listen to Reading. This helps with fluency, vocabulary, etc.

It’s so they don’t have health risks from sharing headphones when using computer programs and such :)
