Our daughter slept through the night with just breast milk and we didn’t notice any changes in her sleep habits when we transitioned. I know it seems to affect some babies more than others but I think it depends more on the baby and their sleep habits than anything else. A good sleeper will sleep well with breast milk, a rough sleeper will still struggle with formula... perhaps a medium sleeper would sleep slightly better with formula because I’ve heard it digests slower than breast milk... I dunno the exact science though.

Breastmilk tends to digest faster so that can be the reason why breastfed babies need to eat more frequently. They also may just like it for comfort reasons.

Both my girls sleep the same from when they were breastfeeding and when they got formula because I had bad supply. My oldest is my better sleeper though, always takes her naps slept through the night at 3 weeks old. My second she sleeps mostly well, some days her naps are great others it’s 20-30 minute cat naps and she’s grumpy, buy 4 weeks old shes been sleeping through the night but is only 7-8 hrs. So compared to my first at 3 months who was doing 10-12 hrs at night she’s not as great of a sleeper but I’ll take it at night! But my SIL her son was formula fed from the beginning and didn’t sleep through the night hardly ever and took horrible naps.
