Living in a dorm with my boyfriend?

Our college has co ed dorms. We’ve been together for 2 years and are madly in love. We have every intention of getting married one day. Should we dorm together or meet new people & dorm with a friend? Please share opinions

If you’ve been together for two years already, I don’t see the harm in living together. But you should check your school’s policy on changing rooms just in case it harms your relationship or you end up breaking up. If you’re stuck with each other for a full year, that could make things awkward. Additionally, if neither of you have ever roomed with another person before (even just sharing a room with a sibling) you might want to look into getting separate rooms so you can get used to living with other people, before trying to live with each other and potentially ruining your relationship.

When my sister and her boyfriend at the time entered college they loved in the same dorm (different floors, same dorm though) and they ended up breaking up a year later because he said she was crowding him and he felt smothered. For me, y’all can live in the same dorm but to live in the same room is a bit too much with the stress of classes and work (if you work) plus extra curricular actives, friends, etc. y’all just need space sometimes. That being said, I moved into an apartment with my boyfriend of 4 months my freshman year and we were together until the middle of my junior year (we moved out at the beginning of junior year so I was the only one with a steady job, we moved in with our parents separately) after he got kicked out of college, started selling drugs and stole my car and WRECKED it. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
