Failure or freedom
Got laid off from a job I just started three months ago. My wife and I are both in our 40s, and she is three months pregnant. I have been laid off from previous jobs, under worse circumstances, but this is different. I have a child I’m responsible for and now...I’m not sure what happens next.
If I were the man I was in my 20s, or even my 30s, I would be losing my mind. I believe that’s why we’re having our child now. Instead of panic, I have a sense of tranquility, a sense of freedom to pursue something bigger, something better than what I’ve been doing. This child gives me a sense of purpose, of freedom. I know I can do what HAS TO be done. Now, I have an opportunity to go after my dreams with a renewed, joyous purpose.
With my wife’s support, some excellent friends and family, and assistance with a spectacular career coach, I feel confident that I can pursue a career that will give my child the experience to see that failure doesn’t have to lead to fear. Instead, failure can become freedom to blossom into what you always wanted to be.
More to come....
